Denny's Trip and the rest of my day

Today started out pretty early. I had to get up around 7:00am and meet with a Professor at 8:30am just before my first class of the day at 9:30. The meeting went very well...I handed her my paper that compared and contrasted Rosemary's Baby the book and the movie of the same title. Anywho, after that was an every-so boring class called Methods of Inquiry which is taught by a very lovely Polish woman who looks an awful lot like Meryl Streep. After that was my Literature and Culture class in which the discussion of Columbus dies rather quickly and Robinson Curusoe had taken over the syllibus. Then I went to my room for a few hours, watched Scream 2 and read more of my book: More Than Human. Than I meet with a mentee for a one-on-one and gossiped about the school.

I then went to an awesome old-friend's room to watch Kiki's Delivery Service and then went to a rather lovely new-friend's room to watch homemade ghost videos that scared the shite out of me!! >.< After that (and afraid of what was lurking behind every corner) 5 other (different) friends of mine and myself went out for a late night trip to Denny's. When we returned from said Denney's (and escaped the old, creepy guy behind us who was talking about James Bond and "dirty Bitches"...) we all realized that it was really, really raining out and we had to walk all of the way from the parking lot to our dorms (and that's far in the rain :P). So, because I thought today was such a lovely day I figured I'd not change out of my soaked clothes and I'd share it with you all through my blog. So there. <3

My new celeb obsession

Watching : The Ballad of Jack & Rose

...and no, it's not a sequal to Titanic :P

Anyway...my 2nd day of classes was today and I'm seriously already stressed out! My job doesn't help...that's for sure. I am a peer mentor and asked to watch over 6 freshers for 3 months and make sure their transition to college is running smoothly. They really are the best kids and I couldn't be more happy to be their mentor! I just hope I do a good job! I want them to like me and have a good time this year. I also want to make sure I pay attention to their needs as well as handle my own. But like I said, I couldn't ask for better kids. My classes aren't too bad. I really like them a lot. I am also excited for the Rocky Horror Picture show! The first practice is this Saturday! Oh and one more thing before I continue with the actually topic...I am singing the national anthem this Friday at my college *eeek!!*

So I am kinda obsessed with Helena Bonham Carter at the moment. I love looking at photos of her! The structure of her facial features is so interesting and her style is frumpy and awesome! I would never wear that kind of clothing but she seems to pull it off rather nicely:

I love the ones where she is pregnant! XD she seems so...unwilling yet proud...maybe she's proud that she's unwilling? I dunno. She's the best no matter what. :) Peace!

Blog FAIL + Alice link

Okay Okay Okay...

Yes, this is a blog entry about how I haven't been blogging lately

No, I won't go on and on about how busy and stressed I've been

BUT I will tell you a tad bit about my summer (just to sum up a few things).

1. I went to Quebec, Canada
2. I got to see my lovely, British friend, Jake Munson!
3. I got to spend my birthday (July 5th) with my family and Will
4. I got a cute, little tea pot from my friend Shanna!
5. I will post pics of it later ;-)
6. My computer (after 4 years of complete loyalty) bailed on me by not recognizing my charger :(
7. One of my classes was cancelled! So, in order to stay on campus, I need to find a new class (I'm hoping on an Independent Study about monsters).
8. NO ONE has gotten back to me about this IS...and it's annoying.

So, right now I'm panicking (not cool) and trying to relax. And honestly, I haven't been in the mood to blog...it's been a weird summer for me I guess. I have tons of silly pics to post soon so once I get my computer and class figured out I promise I'll blog again :)

Love & Peace <3

Senior Week

Watching: FullMetal Alchemist

Yesterday night was SUSHI NIGHT! Amber invited a bunch of us from the Canterbury adventure to join her for some sushi in the Target plaza. Laura, Shannon, Caroline, Mandi and I were the ones that could make it. I had not eaten sushi in about 3 years, since the last time I was in California. The place had my favorite kind, Avocado sushi and it was half off ($2 for sushi!? Heck yeah!). It was great to talk to people about England and so forth without worrying about the friends who had not gone and having them feel left out. It was very relaxing and a joy to be there with those girls. It was also quite an adventure! Mandi attempted to get saki but was carded, :P Caroline had to admit that she had fish the other day becasue she was not getting enough iron, I had to catch up A LOT with Laura because only seen her maybe TWICE the whole semester and I was able to spend time with Amber and Shannon (who would be graduatin in one week!) it was def. a good time.

I plan on going home this weekend and then come back to live with Miss Kate Sculley for the rest of senior week. I'm going to miss everyone <3

Where Have I Been?

Listening to: Mates of State - Proofs

So, I've decided that I fail at blogging. I find that there are so many other important things for me to do...which isn't really that sad but still, I find blogging a release, you know?

Anyway, not much has actually happened since I've been here! I have been swamped with classes and being sick hasn't helped. I know I caught it from Will, even though he said it was just "alergies" pffff! yeah yeah yeah. PS: I know I have never written so many papers at once in my whole life. I end up getting confused and sometimes switch the topics around! "Though one cannot help the failing economy, mermaids are probably the most overused myth in history." wait...what!? UGGGGG! I'm loving my Independent Study with Roxy, but I cannot seem to get into it. It doesn't help that the paper isn't due until the begining of May. I absolutely love the topic (Religious Awe in Theater) but I have so much on my plate that's due before that that I just...well...forget. Thank goodness for posty notes.

Back to being sick, I don't have any meds for the daytime so I figured I'd take a risk and take two tabs of Benadryl today (antihistamine, people). Let's just say that was a very interesting experience. Apparently, I was delusional. I kept thinking that my sociology professor was saying the same sentence over and over again but really she said it once and everytime I heard her voice that same sentences would pop into my mind again. Freaky, I know. After that, I walked to my next class and fell asleep at the desk. Suddenly, I felt a tapping on my head. My friend Kari, who was sitting next to me was trying to wake me up for class. Everyone was looking at me...I actually found it quite funny, but I will never do it again.

So I just finished Frank Herbert's DUNE and I liked it but maybe that's because it was A LOT like Star Wars. The ending was a bit anticlimatic and the ending quote was powerful but irrelevant. I have mixed feelings toward DUNE I guess...but over all, I liked it. Next: The King of Elfland's Daughter!

Love and Peace!

PPS: I'm lovin the clothes in the uppper right hand corner!!
